I cannot figure out how to change the font type and size on an axis in any plot.  I cannot see the values on an axis without zooming in.  Copying a plot to paste into another document leaves me with a graph that is nearly unuseable.  U can change the axis label fonts easily enough but the actual values on the axis is impossible.  I certainly must be overlooking where the command(s) are to do this.

I often use animations (essentially a For loop on the built in variable FRAME) to generate multi-pont analyses, including screen snapshots as an AVI..

 

One issue is that when the analysis takes a very long time, with a need to save the avi at the end, and to take care that data files are not overwritten when the loop finishes (usually with a fresh auto-calc back at FRAME 0).

 

Has anyone managed to automatically detect the completion of the animation recording, so that the AVI can be saved using some separate piece of automation?

 

Also has anyone, in a similar manner, managed to automate the backup of data files generated during the animation recording.

 

Some of my data generations take 5 - 8 hrs and are almost the 1000 FRAME (current) limit, so if anything goes wrong its a whole day wasted.

Hey friends!

 

I am currently working on Mathcad Prime 2.0 for doing Engineering Calculations. While having to do the 2-D plot, I am facing a very fundemental Issue which seems wierd. I'm defining range for x as well as y. I am also extracting both the values and placing them. While I define the 2-D plot I am getting a strange error saying "There are too many range variables". I've attached a snapshot for your reference. Kindly help on this issue ASAP.

Hi,

Sorry for that i writting to you directly but i could't find other way to contact.

 

I have a problem with my mathcad software. After i clicked on setup.exe imiidietly appears information that ptcsetup.exe stopped working. i looked for solution in the net but i could't find anybody who can helps me. If you know how can i fix this problem please write to me. It is student ediition which was downloaded from your's website. My operating system: windows 7 professional 64bit

Hi guys,

 

I have a relatively simple solve block here but i'm getting answers that don't seem to be the right magnitude and the answers that I am getting are changing when i change the guess values which im very confused about. I've always thought the guess value didn't matter. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a log-log plot. The y-axis range is 0.01 to 1.0. The problem is that the x-axis is labeled at the TOP of the y-axis.

Is there a way (as there is in EXCEL) to change where the x-axis labels are placed (i.e. - I want the labels to be at the lowest y value (on log scale) of 0.01)?

Hi everybody,

I would like to keep the mathematical language set to "English" but the Help and the user interface to "German".  This happens because I work in a German-speaking environment and as a non-German mothertongue, I appreciate the possibility to learn (and copy) the appropriate German words.

 

Now the problem is: say for example that I am looking for a function for putting arrays one under the other. I go to the help and find out under "Vektoren und Matrizen", that the function name is "stapeln".  But of course if I type it, I get an error. 

 

There is no way known to me, to learn that "stapeln" as function name is called "stack" in the English "mathematical language".  Please note: this is an example!  I do know .

 

So: Is there some conversion table for function names somewhere in Help?  or is there some way I can search for "stapeln" and find out "stack"?

Hi..

The Excel calculation given below in each step needs to check the current and stroke and import the force value from mathcad.

The Force thus obtained will give the current for the second step, which along with the corresponding stroke value again the force has to be taken from mathcad.

Is it posiible to automate this process using Mathcad by reading the excelsheet?

 

I have attached my worksheets herewith.

I want to draw 3 expressions in one 3D plot, and the ranges of x,y is 1~5.

When I draw it in MC15M030, only one plot setting item appeared!

And when I use the same function in MC2001i, it work well!

See the picture below:

It seems a bug in Mathcad 15 M030, is it?

Hello everyone, i hope all are having a great day.

I started this discussion because im having a little problem solving a system of 2 ordinary diff eqs.
Im not defining a function for t or x because theres not a way to put this in function of w.Also I dont know if i define w with a random numer and t and x with random functions would affect the final result. I just want to solve the differential eqs. I defined r(w) for example for simplicity.

 

The problem im trying to solve is for chemical engineering. Its about solving the mass and heat differnetial eq simultaneously. Heres the document.

Hello all,

 

I am pretty new to Mathcad and still in learning stage. I have two seperate mathcad files created by different people. I need to cross refer variables from one file to another. I tried to use "Reference" option available under Insert. But since the files where created by different people, there are few common variable names in these two files so they are overwritten. Is there an option in Mathcad where we can send and receive just few variables from other mathcad file??

Hello PTC community, thanks for taking your time to check this post out. I dont know if mathcad can do this but im pretty sure it can for what Ive seen. I want to make the sum of multiplying a component of a vector with a component of a matrice in an especific column, then with the next component of the vector with the second row in the same column and so on. Details are attached in the document. Thanks for all!

 

PS. If you are familiarized with chemical engineering, the problem I want to solve is a multicomponent destilation tower with the rigorous method ( I think its the Amundson-Pointnen method)

Is it possible to include parameter constraints when using genfit? If so, how is it implemented?

 

I need to fit a non-linear equation (Richards function) and genfit crashes with the current setting. I supply all the derivative functions with respect to the parameters.

 

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Hello,

 

I would like to make a contour plot of function of one variable(pressure distribution in one dimension element, at fixed time moment). I wish it would look more or less, like Mathcad prime contour plot legend.

 

 

Every attempt fails with "Cannot interpolate 3-D scatter data. These points all lie in a line"
